Performing! So Post Covid, I’ve participated in some outdoor concerts for kids for Oakland Park and Recreation through the Oakland Symphony. Yes, I’ve played a driveway concert and look forward to doing more of that. I’ve also participated in a few recording projects. I’ve also had the pleasure of sheltering at home with my daughter who is a wonderful cellist and playing some Bach and Villa Lobos with her.
And when one plays multiple live concerts a month for years for a lot of different people in a lot of different venues, having it suddenly all go away is a bit of a shock to the system. So when Ensemble LudeCanta Artistic Director C.A. Jordan asked if we could do the solo selections from our concerts we were prepping for April, I jumped on the chance to perform Valerie Coleman’s wonderful Danza de la Mariposa again. Here is a link to the St. Ignatius YouTube feed where I joined my colleagues Lori Hennessy, C.A. Jordan and Linli Wang for the St. Ignatius Thursday Concert series. We really miss making music for all of you, live and in person! And yes, this is the best we can do for the moment!
